Seasons Greetings All!

I wanted to wish you all a happy holiday season. My business has been so successful this year and it's all due to the support of my clients. I so appreciate your business, your feedback and support. I love what I do -- documenting these moments in time. They are fleeting! I am so glad we captured them.

Seasons Greetings,

Julia

Continuing my holiday portrait peeks. Love this family...THE nicest people to work with.

Coming up for air here after a very busy fall season. I was so honored to be a part of so many family's Christmas and holiday card memories. I'll start posting a few peeks at some sessions now...

Here's a family that epitomizes my session details notes where I say, "There is beauty in their movement!"

Christmas card session....

One of my more photojournalistic Christmas card sessions. Love the movement!

Boys On Rocks

Here's a sneak peek at a recent family shoot down by the river. It was a beautiful day for crawling over rocks! Could there be any place better to shoot three busy boys?

Events are so fun for me to do. (When else do you get to be at a party, but not have to make conversation with anyone!) While strolling around, I am always thinking of the slideshow I will provide at the end of the job.

I approach the event like the putting together of a large puzzle. I start with the corners, then add the straight pieces. I work around the edges until I finally get right into the middle of it and snap away.

How can I tap into the sound, smell, look and essence of the event? What senses need to be captured to create the puzzle?

Here's a recent birthday party I did. Can't you hear the music playing?

Headshot Straight Talk

I've recently gotten a lot of requests for corporate headshot jobs. Thought I'd post a few recent examples here and review my thoughts on headshots.

Here's the deal. Having been both in front of and behind the camera myself, I know how much work it is to get a headshot done. I'm not talking about the process of choosing a tie or favorite blouse, or what day to get the hair done...I am talking about the mental energy used to psych yourself up for this!

Well, I have good news. First of all, it's painless. In about 30 minutes (45 if we include the chatting) we'll get a great shot of you, capturing the energy and charisma that makes you, YOU!

I've heard it all about how you don't photograph well, your eyes shut spontaneously, your hair looks thin in photos, you hate your teeth. But don't worry, I'll make you look like your best day ever.

And, after it's done, it's done! You will have one more thing you can tick off your list! The headshot you needed for the press event, a great visual for your Linkedin profile or a social networking shot that you'll be proud for old college buddies to find on Facebook.

Really, we can do this. And it won't hurt! We'll have fun and get a great shot. I guarantee it!
Here are some recent examples of some of the wonderful clients that have walked through the door of my studio and shared their time with me.
