I was asked to take these images "on the fly" at a recent event and was happy to comply. This is four grandchildren and I find it fascinating to see how the DNA is sprinkled across two families, four people and four years.
When I take pictures of family groups, I love capturing the connection between family members. It's not really about the pose that you can see...it's about a very silent, invisible line that you can't see. One that connects parents, children, grandparents, and in this case, grandchildren, who have had many shared experiences, big and small -- some good, some magical, some fun and some moments of just getting on with life.
In this group, you can see the eyes that have, I am sure, been a dominant gene passed down through generations of the family. Eyes that are vibrant (some a beautiful blue) and kind, capping off open and approachable expressions. That's what I see, what catches your eye?
Have a great week,
Julia
